The Wine and Food Society conducted a wine sharing event for it's Charter Members and prospective members on Friday, September 15, 2006.

The wine sharing was hosted by Dan and Elaine Foster, the Society's Vice President and Treasurer. Dinner included Phad Thai and a number of other delicious meat and veggie dishes. Arawan Thai Cuisine catered the event. Each couple brought a delicious bottle of wine for a nice variety for all members to taste in a "blind" tasting. A total of ten wines were tasted and ranked using the UC Davis method. In addition, the Fosters showed some pictures of their recent trip to Peru.A good time was had by all. Judging forms are available for all members, so become a member now!

Congratulations to all participants, we appreciate your participation in this event!

Arawan Thai Cuisine is a family owned restaurant that offers traditional Thai dishes. Walking through the door of Arawan Thai Cuisine, one feels as if entering into the Thai world. There’s an authentic, busy, open kitchen with a full staff of cooks from Thailand waiting to prepare all your favorite items from Pat Thai to Curry. The recipes are prepared with only the freshest ingredients and adhere to Thai tradition. All their meals are served "Family Style"
The dining room sparkles with atmosphere, the high ceiling and the bright yellow walls and handsome burgundy furniture create a nice casual atmosphere. You'll be greeted by a gracious staff who will show you to a table and hand you an extensive menu. The food and the delicate aromas wafting through the air from the open kitchen will whet your appetite.

Arawan is ideal for a quiet business meal or a get-together with friends.

Joe, the owner, has prepared all the recipes by himself. He has 14 years of experience assisting his family in Bangkok, Thailand, from a noodles stand to a full restaurant that often catered to business, and often servied more than a thousand guests. Combined with the experience and recipes from his family, he has put together all the freshest ingredients and cooks for the very best Thai dishes.
