The Wine and Food Society of Clark County hosted a gourmet wine dinner at Irby’s Fine Dining in Battleground, Washington. The menu included appetizers, soup or salad, a choice of 4 entrees, dessert and wine. All of the food is made fesh daily at Iby's, using fresh Alaskan Halibut and Wild Coho Salmon. Steve Irby and his chef did a fantastic job explaining about their wines and how they came about the Irby's label, as well as how the dishes were prepared. The Society had a very successful dinner at Irby’s, thanks both to the restaurant and to our attendees. We all arrived promptly and were taken to the side dining room, which was all set up for our event. Steve Irby greeted us and told us a bit about the restaurant, and particularly about the Irby label wines. We started out with an appetizer plate of fruit and cheese, followed by soup or salad and a choice of entrée. Of course, there was a wine to go with each choice. Nearly half of the group opted for the baked halibut. The food was exceptional!! After dinner, the chefs took a few minutes to tell us how the food was prepared, as well as to give us a bit of information about their professional backgrounds. Dinner was completed with the serving of Irby’s famous Tiramisu. It was luscious. Sanford donated a couple bottles of chocolate port (Aldercreek Vineyard) to complement the dessert. All in all, it was a great dinner and a fun event. There is a video available for members to view and pictures! Become a member now!
