Trip Planning & Touring Wine Country

Washington

Tours of Washington wine country can
begin from almost anywhere. Most visits start in Seattle but Washington
wine country is a brief drive from Boise, Portland and even Vancouver,
British Columbia. With more than 80 wineries in and around the Puget
Sound area it is possible to tour and taste for many days in the Seattle
and Woodinville regions. Within a 45 minute drive of downtown Seattle
one can visit winery tasting rooms, enjoy summer concerts and other
wine related activities.
Many people take weekend trips to the Yakima Valley to tour the wineries
in the midst of the vineyards. Yakima Valley is 2 1/2 hour drive from
downtown Seattle taking you over the beautiful Cascade Mountains. Wineries
are scattered throughout the Yakima Valley from the city of Yakima in
the west to the Tri-Cities area in the east. Other popular wine regions
to tour in Washington State are the Walla Walla region, home to approximately
60 wineries, Spokane area which is home to 10 wineries, Southwest Washington,
