About Walla Walla
The Walla Walla Valley is primarily known for red wines such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah and lesser quantities of Cabernet Franc and Sangiovese. Also produced are excellent white wines such as Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Gewurztraminer, Semillon, Pinot Gris, Riesling and Viognier. Located in the southeastern corner of the state, Walla Walla is easily accessible by car or air from Seattle, Spokane or Portland. Downtown Walla Walla is an attractive tourist destination with wine tasting rooms, shopping, restaurants and hotels available in one convenient area. Many wineries are open daily while others are open by appointment. Please check with each winery for hours. Annual events include; Spring Release Weekend in early May, Balloon Stampede on Mother's Day weekend, Vintage Walla Walla in early June and Holiday Barrel Tasting in December. For more information
